The “green” radio
In a period when everyone is concerned with protecting the environment, the designers Solène Le Goff and Christophe Gouache have come up with a new product that is not only useful, but also satisfies the need of being “green”. Made from a rough oak wood log, this solar powered radio is a very interesting way of introducing nature in your home. Attached to the top of the radio is a long, thin solar panel, but also a dynamo powered by the user’s finger.
For changing the stations and volume control you have a retractable antenna and two rotary dials. The top left button turns the radio on, but also changes the volume, while the bottom left button controls the radio frequencies. This ingenious radio is made 80 % from wood, while the other 20 % are common radio components, thus making this product very eco-friendly. At a family picnic or in your classy living room, the radio log fits in perfectly, while ensuring that you’ve done something to protect our environment. This is a trendy new way of thinking that may prove that “baby steps” are better than no action whatsoever. Via: DB
